fauxhawk
A full head of hair combed into the middle to fabricate the look of a mohawk.

A few years back I was desperate for a new hair do and I found and was saved by Mr R. This genius tamed my frantic curls and made me a cool 1930s hair do.  He cut my hair this one time, then he moved away (divorced, I've heard) and I have been searching for his new place ever since.

Since that I've had more and less success (actually more ”less” than ”more”), in getting that fabulous hair do back. I've been to three different hair dressers and none of them got it.

Last week I met Ms L and her scissors. I told her that "the problem with my hair is my natural but highly elusive curls and the fact that no one dares to cut it short enough". She did have the guts and now I have a ”cute as button” hair do (says Ms B-M). It is very short in the neck and a little longer and curlier on the sides. It is perfect for...

… a fauxhawk. It turns up by default if I go to bed with wet hair and it makes my darling waking up laughing.

[Note to self:
- Did you see your new collegue's hair?
- It must be Mr R.
- Indeed...

fan
/fæn/ –noun
an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of a sport, pastime, celebrity, etc

I am a sort of reluctant fan, because I am not into rock music. But I really like this band since their music always makes me happy and I do want them to win a free recording in a studio and also make a music video, so please help them win this. Just click for Motherpearl.

Motherpearl plays funky rock with a groove, he says. He is The Bite ot the band, my much adored cousin.

You can buy the music here: http://blog.recordunion.com/dogblog/2009/03/23/motherpearl-now-available-on/

[spring-tahyd] –noun
1.  the season of spring.
2.  the first or earliest period: the springtime of love.

A about a week ago a Facebook friend (who is studying here in Sweden) wrote this on his wall: "... would like to introduce Warm Weather. Warm Weather, this is Scandinavia. Scandinavia, this is Warm Weather. I'll leave you two alone so you can get to know each other better."

It worked, it seems they are getting along pretty well. I think if we just let them be and don't have them rushing in to anything, it could lead to a fantastic and beautiful summer. I already have a tan from this sunny weekend.

[Note to self:
- Use sun block, your skin is not prepared for hours in the sun just yet.
- Look... it is not a burn, this is a tan! Stop freaking out!

[os-kyuh-ley-shuhn]  –noun
1. the act of kissing.
2. close contact.
3. Geometry; the contact between two osculating curves or the like.

Osculation. Osssscu... lation. Just tasting this word makes me happy.

There is a saying from Värmland (a district of Sweden) which roughly goes (and think of it as being said in a singing, woodland accent):
"A good kiss should have the same sound as a cow dragging its hind leg out of a marsh."

Now say the word again.   ~ osculation ~   It is almost onomatopoetic!

[Note to self:
- The sound of any good kiss is really not important. At all.
- I like geometry even better now.

jape

intransitive verb:
1. To joke; to jest.

transitive verb:
1. To make fun of; to mock.

I did caught my co-worker japing the colleagues and laughed out loud. They still looked at her with very serious looks in their faces and listened to her sad but yet exciting story, and I pretended to laugh at something completely different. But I also caught her eye so she knows I was not fooled. It was a good story though.

[Note to self:
- But you did not fool anyone?
- No.
- Not even a little prank?
- Nope.
- You are boring.
- No, I'm picky. The things we
thought of wasn't fun enough.]
